  6. Sorry to change to subject Pam, But I just watched Janet Napolitano on the News this Monday AM.

I knew it was just a matter of time when it would be noted that it was the past administration’s plans that allowed the man to have an explosive device stuck in his panties. In other words, Bush’s fault.

But Security worked perfectly. Yeah, right.

Thank God for the brave passengers on that flight.
This is going to give me a great story for a blog....

  7. Last weekend while you were cooking and shopping and wrapping presents, and preparing for the holidays with your family, Harry Reid’s Senate was making shady backroom deals to ram through the Democrat health care take-over. The Senate ended debate on this bill without even reading it. That and midnight weekend votes seem to be standard operating procedures in D.C. No one is certain of what’s in the bill, but Senator Jim DeMint spotted one shocking revelation regarding the section in the bill describing the Independent Medicare Advisory Board (now called the Independent Payment Advisory Board), which is a panel of bureaucrats charged with cutting health care costs on the backs of patients – also known as rationing. Apparently Reid and friends have changed the rules of the Senate so that the section of the bill dealing with this board can’t be repealed or amended without a 2/3 supermajority vote.

It’s good to know some things never change. Jihadists are still trying to carry out terrorist attacks against innocent civilians while the U.S. Senate pontificates during hearings. And Barack Obama still take his cheap (but expensive) Photo -Op’s strutting along the Beaches of Hawaii.

  8. Pamella, I saw your name on the Progressive Eruptions blog as one of the contributes to that FILTH.

I was extremely sorry to see that and I'm sorry to say that I will NO LONGER be a poster to this blog because of that.

If you wish to be part of that commie-Marxist blog then so be it.
That's your mistake and I for one won't be part of it or of this. I will not post in a Marxist blog.

And I hope that my fellow republicans will feel the same way.

  9. Hi Pam,

My apologies for this belated season's greeting. I was visiting my daughter in the DC area and returned a bit more fatigued than usual.

Please accept my best wishes to you and your family for a healthy, happy, and prosperous New Year.

  10. Just My Opinion, if you want to blame someone for putting Pam's name on the contributor list at Progressive Eruptions, blame me because I am the one who invited her.

Pam posted a very well written conservative viewpoint on a liberal blog. You should be proud of her accomplishment. I don't think Pam, or any reasonable person for that matter, appreciates being bullied or threatened.

The civil and respectful thing to do is give Pam an appropriate greeting in keeping with the holiday season. So be a human being, a mensch, and do the right thing.

  11. Just My Opinion: It’s quite sad that you have to discredit my Christmas post with such a disdainful comment about where I choose to post. You could’ve posted your displeasure where the thread was originally generated, which was here on my blog titled as “The Domino Effect of our Banking System” and at Progressive Eruptions under the SAME title.

    HOWEVER…

As your profile name indicates—you have your opinion and I have mine and you have every right to go where you please in the blogosphere, as have I. I will not be intimidated by ANYONE. I will post where I chose, when I chose. I will also run MY blog as I see fit. I LIKE being a BIPARTISAN blogger. There are very few of us in the blogging community and I will NOT change for anyone. I walk to the beat of MY own drum and will NOT get in line with the other sheeple.

I wish you success in your future endeavors.

  12. Pam, just wanted to stop by and wish you the best for 2010. Like you said, you should be able to post wherever you want and to say what you want.

I don't have any problem with hiting that trash can. Nobody should be subjected to threats and verbal abuse.

I've put you on my list, and again, I wish you much good cheer for the coming year.

  13. Octo: Thank you for the Holiday wishes. I knew you were away visiting family. I hope you had a wonderful time with your daughter.

Also, there is NO blame as far as me posting on Shaw's blog. I was happy to do it and I hope I'm invited in the future. I DO believe in Bipartisanship AND civility and I PRACTICE what I preach. I walk the walk, so I will stand by my values and my beliefs and my character will stay in tact. But thank you for having my back.

  16. I have been reading Shaw's blog for the past few days and although I do not have any dog in this race, I'd like to express my opinion on the matter of Conservationism vs. Liberalism.
Recently I've made comments about my conservative nature on many blogs including my own and I've been flamed. Well, not really 'flamed' because I don't feel upset or humiliated. I like Shaw am sick and tired of being called names and insulted... It's really not the counter-comments that are so bad but it's the ridiculous emails calling me evil and self-righteous, I am not a racist and I don't whish to be called one just because I am a Conservative. I don't want people like "Truth101 calling me thr F word or any other dirty words or dirty names, so I just stay away from blogs like theirs. But if you wish to partake in their dirty games go ahead.. But DON"T expect to have your Conservative friends follow. Why should be made to feel shame for being Conservative? My experience knowing fellow conservatives is that they worked their butts off and began their adult life without much. If they became rich from working hard.. GOOD for them, I don't feel that people like Truth101 or Shaw should insult them for doing what America is all about.
I've done more research in politics and ideology than most Americans I speak to and often times I am called 'ignorant' for not knowing what's what and who's who. But that's their opinion, I feel that I know where I want to go with American and it's not the same place that liberals want us to go.
So, what does being conservative mean to me?
It's simple, my core value and belief system is conservative because I feel that as a human being with dependents it is my responsibility to take care of myself and my family. I do not feel it's anyone else's responsibility to pay my bills, house and clothe me, provide me with transportation, and I do not ask anyone else to do so.
Does this mean I think that people on welfare are lazy and stupid and selfish? Of course not, but then again, some welfare recipients do abuse the system. Also, some of them are honestly part of a very valuable service offered to them to better themselves and free themselves from financial stress.
Have I ever received welfare? No. Will I ever receive welfare. I don't know.
Do I think I should have to pay some kind of stipend to welfare recipients to 'spread the wealth'..Absolutely not. I already pay too much tax as it is.
It always baffles me that many Americans do not know the difference between the liberal ideology and the conservative ideas.

In Summation these are some of the ideas that I carry in my heart and this is what makes me the person I am. I do not feel shame for identifying with conservative ideologies. If you decide I am a horrible person and you want to remove me from your follow list or put me on your block list, than it's not me who is intolerant. I really am a nice person....really.
Conservatives are not horrible people because they won't support a President who we feel is damaging our country. I won't... And yes, I hope he fails as being president and that he is a one term president..
Goo there if you wish or if you must Pam, but I will not be a follower.

  17. I highly doubt you've read much of my blog MRV. If you had you would notice that I only attack when first attacked.

Frankly, I don't blog for ego, hits or the chance to make it profitable. If I wanted that I would blog as a right winger. In all likelyhood I could present a case for the right better than most of the righties.

If you think I am being punished by boycotts, or especially, if anyone thinks Pmaela is being punished by boycotts, you need to open your eyes and see the light. We are begging for real discussion and discourse on the left and the rational right. We come to Pamela's because we can find bloggers that may not share our views but will willing engage in conversation. Many right leaning bloggers visit my site for that reason.

I can name call with anyone. I'd rather be civil. And once the reactionaries figure out that civility and debate based on logic and principle will overwhelming win them elections rather than divisive name calling and fearmongering, the Democrats will be in trouble.

  18. The Republican party are terrorists, Rush, Glenn, and Sean are the bad guys, and the Obama’s war on America expands by the day. I wonder if the liberals and the rest of the American community will just take Obama’s disrespect and like it, or if they will also stand up to Obama and work hard to defeat his agenda, realizing that he is no more their friend than the enemy.
What are these bloggers complaining about? They should be thanking their lucky stars that they’re allowed to bask in the splendiferous awesomeness of His Nobility. Hell, they should feel damn lucky they’re even sharing the same temporal plane of existence as Lord Zero. Should we be afraid to call terrorist what they are “TERRORISTS”? What’s next? So now the War on Terror is a “MAN-CAUSED DISASTER” So what’s next!
And these are the kind of people that you wish to associate yourself with? Does the phrase unconstitutional have any real meaning anymore? No Obama does whatever he wants to he feels the constitution was meant to be trashed. Has anyone wondered how this administration plans to pay for all the massive spending? No and they don’t care, they want to bankrupt America. It’s called redistribution of the wealth. Take it from America and give it to the third world nations. America be damned. My Mama always told me not to trust anyone with shifty eyes. Geithner “Head tax cheat who's in charge of the treasury department” gives new meaning to the phrase.
As the saying goes, “You asked for it, you got it”! OBAMA DOES NOT GIVE A RATS BACKSIDE ABOUT YOU OR ME! Sooner you figure this out, the sooner we can all get together and find a solution. Have you noticed how many libs like your friend here Shaw don't and can’t defend OBAMA, all they can do is say, "Well look at what Bush did." “Look at what Glenn Beck and at what Rush did”
I too am disappointed in you Pamela. But like someone else here has said. we have to do what we have to do. And I too must do what I must do.

As far as what Truth101 has just written, I won't even to address that stupid idiot. My self respect tells me not to bother.
Haters, liars, back stabbers and negative Bull Shitters like him are just plain a waste of my time and I will not have any of the immature grade school head games.
Talk crap about me behind my back? That only tells me that person is a coward and simply put, that also means that person does not have the guts to confront me of their own personal issues that they have created in the first place for themselves.
They are in my opinion immature self-serving Morons. . GROW UP and see the light, while you still can!

My words are not out of angry, as some people think to describe it as...huge difference!
If I was angry? You will know it. Un-Americans like him just make me sick to my stomach. He represents the worst of America.

He said ”I'd rather be civil.” Do you call ANYTHING that he has written in ANYONE of his hideous blog “CIVIL? He call Republicans every name in the book. The book of the boys in the Hood that is.

What a joke that is. Yes you do have a few right leaning posters that comment there I’d say less than a handful. But whatever, you still insist to use gutter words and gutter terms whenever you address the republicans. Each and every time you get the opportunity to. I just read a few of your recent blogs and I think that any republican with ant sense of respect would have to be crazy to comment there. You and a few of your cronies just jump at the chance to insult republicans and call them every insulting name you learned in 3rd grade.
Frankly, I’m Sick and Tired of Being Called a Racist! The cry of Racism is the last resort of you Charlatans and is used by left wing “libtards” and Blacks to gain Political, Educational and Job advantages over silly guilt filled “Whitey”. Yes, It’s still Whiteys” fault and Bush’s fault. And the ones who collected and sold slave’s fault.
So if it's racist of me to want all ILLEGAL immigrants/aliens in our country to return to their own countries, and come back here later legally? I can live with that.

I’m sick of people like YOU calling me names only because I made a success of myself and I have a few buck that I earned honestly. In case you don’t know it sir, but that’s called the “AMERICAN DREAM” My family came here LEGALLY, and they worked hard as hell to send me to college and I was the first one in my family to obtain a high education and now I am doing the same for my children. I never took or asked for anything from anyone. And I don’t appreciate YOU or anyone like you calling me a RICH Republican. So what! Who what’s to be a poor American or a poor anything! If you don’t agree with Obama and the proposed programs the Democrats are trying to ram down our throats, you’re labeled a racist.
Arrogant, elitist lefties like Sean Penn, Madonna, Streisand, Maher, Pelosi, Reid and Michael Moore likened Bush to Hitler and Obama followers labeled Bush evil, out of touch. But don’t dare to say any of those things about our Dear Leader Obama or you libs will come down on us like swarming locust.
So in closing, take your liberal holier than thou crap and your hypocritical attitudes and take a hike to your blog where it belongs. No one here is buying it. It don't mean a rats ass to me!

Pamela, you do whatever you see fit, but like Eric, if that gang of liberals come here to spread their hate of America like they do on their own blogs, I will not be joining you here.
I apologize for hijacking the Merry Christmas thread. But I think that has already been done.. I think the points I have made here are relevant to the (new controversial ) topic.

  20. Ah, From "Truthie"the boy who cried “Racism”!
I still can't believe that some Americans are so flipping stupid as to support an a guy like Obama. But then again we still have bloggers like Truthie and his ilk..
I guess that some still like Truthie and his blog, that great and humorous and filth ridden blog about the current state of the US administration that he loves so much..

You may not like George Bush - but you completely STUPID to buy into to Obama.
Seems like he is allowing his opinion to crowd out the truth. When an American president can write “typical white person” and a article writer such as yourself complain when “racist” is used against you, a hurt liberal whose parents did not raise you for this, then “race” is the dominant meme. The overarching comment. The ham-handed pejorative. Better to give up the unfounded notion of race, and dream with Dr. King of that color-blind society. In my version of the dream, people stop using the notion of race as a way of measuring individuals.

Until then, everyone who likes to use the concept can call someone else “racist,” and in doing so probably prove their own “racism” as well. Funny how the worm turns, isn’t it!

Typical leftists - they can't tolerate dissent or opposing views so they have to attack them. Obamacare stinks to high heaven and I don't care if it is being promoted by a blue-eyed busty blonde female President. The American people don't want this crap sandwich but the corrupt Congress and President want to ram it down people's throats while they and their liberal allies are exempt. The Revolution is coming folks, if this government thinks that people are going to cheerfully lie down and accept indentured servitude, they're smoking crack.

The Demogoguic party has no other recourse. And will mimic the MSM and blow it all out of proportion. Case of the pot calling the kettle black. Affirmative Action RACIST

    Sotomayor the ‘wise Latina’ RACIST

    The Obamanation in GATESGATE RACIST

    Rev Wright RACIST

    Prof Gates RACIST

96% of Blacks vote Obambi RACIST

    Oprah RACIST

    I rest my case.

  21. HERE IS AN EXCERPT FROM TRUTH101'S LATEST BLOG.
    You be the judge:

But no doubt this shithead went back to his big blog and typed how he told that left winger a thing or two. Then all his minions, actually his minions are the same hoard that are Rush's and Beck's minions also. Anyway, they all cheered him because they are also idiots that have no clue what the hell is going on. That's why most idiots voted for Bush. It's a peer thing with them. Only idiots allowed. Too bad their embarrassment at their idiocy causes them to post hate and ignorance on right wing blogs instead motivating them to get smarter by reading blogs like TAO's Radical Perspective or one of the other outstanding blogs I have linked."

As I said, this was taken from his blog today. Word for word.

  23. Over the years I've been writing this blog, I've been throwing out little self-evident truths that seem to have no exceptions that prove the rule. I've made a list of some of them and will add to it as I remember them or make up more. Most of this list I've come up with myself. A few I've borrowed from others.

    1. Always expect the worst from a liberal and you will never be surprised.

    2. Never try to reason with a liberal. They disregard any evidence that conflicts with their beliefs.

    3. You can always tell what liberals are up to by what they accuse conservatives of doing.

    4. Liberals don't debate, they argue.

    5. The only standards liberals have are double standards.

    6. Liberals feel, conservatives think.

    7. Whenever you don't understand a liberal's motives, just look for the money.

    8. Liberals cannot be embarrassed. They lack the gene to blush.

    9. The Liberal creed is, "Do as I say, not as I do."

    10. Liberals get older, but they never get smarter.

    11. There are no honest liberals. If they were honest -- especially to themselves -- they would be conservatives.

    12. A liberal's business is nobody's business, but everyone's business is a liberal's business.

    13. Liberals have an inflated sense of self-worth. They are like house flies that criticize the air-worthiness of a Stealth fighter. (Sarah Palin, George W. Bush, ad infinitum are morons.)

    14. Liberals lack a sixth sense that is standard equipment in conservatives -- common sense.

    15. Liberals never stop hating.

    16. There are only two types of liberals -- the deceivers and the deceived.

    17. Every time liberals get on their high horse, they get bucked off.

    18. Liberal programs are so wonderful that they have to be forced on people.

    19. Liberals always choke on their own medicine.

    20. When given a moral choice, liberals always come down on the wrong side of the fence.

    21. The only way liberals can build themselves up is by tearing others down.

    22. Liberals not only refuse to admit their mistakes, they refuse to learn from them.

    23. Liberals can dish it out, but they can't take it.

    24. Liberals are incapable of attacking the message, so they always attack the messenger.

    25. Liberal diversity is only skin deep.

    ReplyDelete
  24. My Right View, there is no reason why Conservatives and Liberals can’t be friends. This is as ridiculous as saying a person from New York can’t be friends with a person from California, or a Catholic can’t be a friend to a Jew or a Protestant.

We are not warring tribes; we are all citizens who frame the American experience from different viewpoints. Do you really want to ostracize Pamela just because there are liberals in her family, in her neighborhood, or among her circle of friends? This seems so unfair.

In your comment (above), you mention the virtues of hard work and self-reliance. May I make this conjecture: Our respective ancestors (meaning those of Pamela, Shaw, yours, and mine) came to this country in search of the American Dream. Perhaps one or more of our immigrant ancestors looked for a job and encountered a sign that read:

NO [fill-in the blank] NEED APPLY.

Looking for work but finding only discrimination, these too are part of our history. Today, we would not be who we are and what we are without the virtues of hard work (a conservative talking point) and equality under law (a liberal talking point). Although we may emphasize different aspects of the American experience, we need both, and we need each other.

Our ancestors overcame discrimination and became “melting pot” Americans by mixing with peoples of different cultures, ethnicities, nationalities, and religions. Why should we now segregate ourselves into partisan camps and dishonor the struggles of our ancestors? This seems so petty and un-American; and it beggars comprehension.

Speaking as a liberal, I do not view you “as a bad person” just because you self-identify as a conservative; nor do I approve of invective from anyone, left or right, who would ridicule you. If we argue, let our disagreements be over facts and interpretations; partisan differences should not degenerate into verbal abuse, negative stereotyping, or personal assaults regardless of which side does it.

My Right View, I hope you will not abandon Pamela just because she has a few liberal friends.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Seeing as how most of them are the one person from Long Beach NY, I don't think Pamela, you, Shaw or myself is losing much Octo.

And the "anonymous" persona my friend from Long Beach used remembers, it was Redstate guy that spent his three minutes of fame on CNN calling those of us on the left "socialists."

  26. Dear Pamela, what is all this I have been reading here today?
I know that you are open minded, but to actually be a part of the infectious horrible disease known as Liberalism, is a shocker.
I always was very proud of the way you bloged and I thought you knew the distinction between the two parties. And that you were very clear about the way you felt about the liberal party, but I guess that I was wrong. There a large distinction between the two. And liberals is very clearly not the way people with your sense of values want to follow. It’s one thing to be friendly with liberals, but to join them in their cause is a disaster that I would not like to see happen. Do you really see yourself on the side on Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, etc. I think not.

Today’s democratic party is much less a political party as it is a popularity party. It’s been this way since at least Carter, but maybe even JFK, whom I respect greatly. What is popular, and what is right are often on opposing sides. Ok, I may get a little philosophical here. To me there is little difference between liberalism and stupidity although some conservatives have managed to equate the two. But again, that's probably because I'm referring to the classic or true liberalism.
I line up to the right as a conservative because there is a core set of values I see being tossed by the weigh side in this country on a daily basis, and I desperately want these values back. I just don’t believe the libs are concerned with morality, unless it suits their current need.
PLEASE, stay out of that hell-hole . We love your blog here ... don’t ruin it and make all these people angry enough to stay away. Think about it. Why do you need it? Why must you prove anything to those losers?
Liberalism is a horrible disease, and now we have a disease infested thug in the white house. I’ll pray for us all… because we will need it. Look what Obama is doing, Nationalized Health Care!? I have a friend that came to live here from Italy (the 2nd best health care system in the world) to live here for 2 years, I asked him about their awesome Nationalized health care and he said "Its OK just don’t get hurt, it is much better here. Obamas policies is for the people with their hands out. I am a business owner who makes great money and I had no better opportunity than anyone else, I wanted something and worked to achieve it. If the people who founded this country were liberal it never would have been the USA because they would have waited for someone else to do it.

(O)CT(O)PUS has said...’I hope you will not abandon Pamela just because she has a few liberal friends.’

I say, Friends are one thing joining up with the people who HATE your Philosophy, and call your beliefs every dirty name in a school child’s dictionary is another. That is NOT what I call friends. Octopus, I have read your posts and you are no different than the likes of Shaw, Truth and Tao, you are all a team of anti AMERICAN IDEAS AND YOU HATE US. So why should I or any other conservative/republican read your filth or worse partake in it! You have all made your beds, now you can sleep in them without ME.

  27. T101, it is pointless to use the juvenile sandbox logic of “you started it first." There comes a time when this back and forth sniping must end, and I have no more patience for this stuff.

To be more blunt, if a person says to Pamela: “I won’t be friends with you if you talk to a liberal,” I would view that comment as little more than schoolyard bullying. Grown adults don't talk to each other in such petty, juvenile terms.

Last October, I wrote this post, DEMOGRAPHIC CLUSTERING AND THE SELF-SEGREGATION OF AMERICA, about how partisanship is dividing contemporary America. The article gave reasons why liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, must start talking to each other. When we segregate ourselves and cease engaging the other in dialogue, each side tends to caricature and stereotype the other and take harder, more extreme positions.

I invite anyone here to read the article and the discussion underneath. Please feel free to participate if you have something constructive and positive to say; but if your purpose is to be bellicose and belligerent and flame people without forethought, please don’t. At the Swash Zone, we delete rude and abusive comments.

Earlier today, I took it upon myself to remove Pamela and one liberal from Shaw’s blog. End of discussion.

  29. I have no clue why or WHO started the RUMOR that I am a Liberal. I am STILL a Conservative! I allow Liberals on my blog just as I allow Liberals in my kitchen! I have Liberal family and friends...am I supposed to disown my family? I think not. And I refuse to speak ignorantly to them, just as I will not be ignorant to Liberals who visit here. I will act in the blogosphere as I act in real life. Nothing has changed. I am the SAME person who started this blog. I will continue to allow Liberals here on my site and I will still visit Liberal blogs. Just as I will visit Liberal family and friend's houses. My Conservative beliefs and values have NOT changed and they will NOT change.

I hope the confusion has been cleared up. But for those of you who still don't want to visit here, I wish you success in your endeavors and I'm glad to have known you.

  33. TAO Said:"All these freedom defending Americans all want to tell you who you can talk to and socialize with...

It must be 'their' rights that they are all so concerned about because they sure don' seem all that bothered about tromping all over your rights!"

Still playing the INSTIGATOR aren't you TAO!
    Still stirring up trouble!
I haven't been around for a long time, but some things never change.

  34. Pam, We Conservative Americans live in the real world, liberal progressives do not live in the real world, You will find this out sooner then later.

    Liberal progressives are terrorist sympathizer
The holier than thou position that most of these liberals take is exactly why their party has the reputation it does, (being a party of LIARS)
I think what some of these folks here have said is true.. You can not take part in a liberal’s blog and remain objective, (free from bias)... and if you don't believe it then your brainwashed like all the far left is.
I guess Glenn Becks right, "You can't argue with idiots"

    ReplyDelete
  35. Me, Myself & I: I guess in your world you don’t have ANY Liberal friends or family members. In your world EVERYONE believes just as you. That must be nice. But in my world I have friends and relatives who are Liberals. I REFUSE to disown them just as I REFUSE to treat them disrespectfully because they believe differently than I. I love my friends and family, regardless of their political persuasion. I suppose that’s what sets me apart from you and some of the other bloggers. I can disagree with others in a civil manner and still remain friends. I know many other Conservatives who are like me, too. It must be here in the blogosphere where this “hate all Liberals” is the rule of the sphere. But a rule I will not follow, because it makes no sense to me. I will not follow something that doesn't work for me. However, if it works for you, then I wish you every success. Thank you for your contribution and good luck in the future.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Pam, I don’t recall my saying anything of the kind. Nor do I remember anyone else here suggesting that either. Of course we all have friends and family of both political persuasions. I would never say that you should not remain friends with them. What I DID say was that I didn’t think “you could take part in a liberal’s blog and remain objective, (free from bias).” I have read the blogs written by Truth and Shaw and by TAO and you MUST admit that they are very unkind to the republicans. In fact they are disgusting.
Did that sound anything like “you should not remain friends with them”? I don’t think it does. So please do not put words into my mouth that I did not say...

But as you said: “However, if it works for you, then I wish you every success. Thank you for your contribution and good luck in the future”

  37. TAO, as you point out, those who piled on Pamela have disrespected her most fundamental rights:

    Freedom of speech
    Freedom of conscience
    Freedom to associate

But there is one more aspect of this sad and sorry episode that also needs to be stated.

Shaw, who was about to have surgery for cancer, asked me to keep her blog active during her hospitalization and recovery phase. As friends, Pamela and I were happy to help a friend in her time of need. Helping others appeals to our higher angels. This is what human beings do. This is what supposedly separates human beings from savages.

But not according to those who have decided to abandon Pamela. I find this incredibly callousness and cruel just because Pamela chose to help a friend with a simple act of kindness. Shameful! Unbelievable!

Pamela, the labels “conservative” and “liberal” mean nothing to me. Friendship matters more. Please accept my apologies. I feel heartsick over what has transpired. Had I known in advance, had I anticipated what might happen, I would not have exposed you to such wanton cruelty. No matter what, your friends will stand with you. We love you as we love all our family and friends.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Ms Octopus, please don’t try to blame everyone here for things that did not transpire. I did not attempt to disrespected ANY of Pam’s rights as you have so righteously suggested. Nor have I read anywhere else where anyone else had done so.
So take your holier than thou sob story to TAO and Shaw’s and Truths blog and tell them how to conduct themselves like normal human beings do. And tell them not to insult and hurt others as they do daily.
I think they could be taught a lesson in human attributes and values.

  39. Me, Myself, And I:

Did I mention you by name? I don't seem to recall doing so. This is the phrase I used: "But not according to those ..."

Are you one of "those?" Or do you simply enjoy picking an argument with anyone who walks into a room? Was I even talking to you?

Righteous? I am defending a friend who happens to one of those most honorable and principled persons in the blogosphere, regardless of politics or partisan affiliation. Too bad you don't see it that way. Too bad you see everything through "ego" colored glasses.

BTW, I happen to be a Mr. Octopus, not a Ms. Get a life!

Now don't start picking a fight with me. I didn't know that I had to be personally addressed to contribute to a discussion here. I was under the impression that this was a open discussion.

And while I am putting in my 2 cents, let me add that perhaps if the other blogs I mentioned like Shaw's and Truth's were not so nasty, and insulting, people would not have been so pissed off by Pam's going over there to contribute. And ONLY because we DO love Pam and did not want to see her suckered into those bias and potty mouthed blogs.
Now that I said my 2 cents, you can say whatever you want to to discredit me.

  41. So, MISTER (O)CT(O)PUS said.."Get a life!"

And you Sir have been preaching here all day long.

I suggest that YOU get a life.
And while you are at it get another bully pulpit.

  42. Pam, may I suggest that you would do yourself more justice if you would speak for yourself instead of having people like this Tree-huger do it for you.

Preaching that anyone was attempting to take away your
    Freedom of speech
    Freedom of conscience
    Freedom to associate.

Isn't that like the pot calling the kettle black!

I didn't indent to desert this blog Pam, but this OCTO Person has given me the reason to.

  44. Seems your "friends" don't think you have the strength of your convictions.
That you will somehow be "turned" or "brainwashed." That just by engaging with liberals you will be tainted and changed.
That you are a "Jezebel" or traitor because you helped a friend, or had dialog with the opposition.
    How silly. How Jr. High.
I have read Pam discuss with these so called #%&$*$# liberals. She is a realist. A fighter for her thinking. She doesn't back off her beliefs. She knows irrationality when she sees it. She knows how to be a "true" friend. We need more like her in this partisan country.
All you so quick to dump her, should take lessons from her on how to be a friend. How to be civil.
How many times has Pam asked her readers to cut the ad hom, dirty word comments?
I would call you "fair weather friends." A sorry display of running away from her simply because she stands by her convictions.
    Pam, you deserve better "friends."

  45. I feel that most people here are missing the whole point.
And that poin is that the blog in question, Shaw's and yes Truth's as well are just not liked and rejected by republican bloggers.
And they don't want to see Pam thrown in with that lot.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Me, Myself & I: I must apologize for the miscommunication. I didn’t mean to imply that you “said” anything nor did I seek “to put words in your mouth”. My comment was MY interpretation of your and the other bloggers comments who are displeased with the way I blog, where I go in the sphere and who I allow on my blog.

I feel very sad that you and so many others think that I am such a “namby-pamby” and that I wouldn’t be able to “remain objective” while on Liberal sites. I am very strong in my Conservative values so I have every confidence that I will not sway in my views. I thank Tom for acknowledging that.

Professor: My going to Truth’s and Shaw’s blog has NOT changed my Conservative beliefs and values. I’m still the same person I was when I began my blog. I am STILL a Conservative voice for the Conservative cause! I will not be swayed just because I visit a Liberal blog or because I was a “guest writer” on a Liberal blog. My position is FIRM. My Conservative values are etched in my heart. I have been a Conservative since I can remember. Heck, I was a Conservative before I even knew what a Conservative was! I remember as a teenager when my bio-mother said, “Democrats are for the poor and Republicans are for the rich.” I thought to myself, “Gee, I don’t want to be poor. I want to be rich! I want to be a Republican!” I’m sure that’s NOT the message she was trying to get across to me, but it’s the message I HEARD. She was on welfare, by the way, and I HATED it. I saw what the Govt. Programs did to her. So, trust me when I tell you, my values ARE etched in my heart! I live my values and beliefs and no matter how many Liberal friends and family members I have, I will not sway in my views. HOWEVER, I DO enjoy conversing with others of the opposite political persuasion. I just wish you and the others could understand and respect that.

  47. No, Professor of Life, it is you who misses the point. Pamela came to the aid of a friend undergoing cancer surgery, an act of kindness and compassion.

About what Pamela wrote, there were no constraints, guidelines, or limits placed on Pamela. She was free to write about anything she wanted, and she did. But somehow some of you seem to think she was corrupted by some vague conspiratorial force. Bullshit!

Before you save someone from a burning house, do you subject them to a political litmus test? Or do you throw every human under a bus who doesn't meet with your petty approval? What kind of people are you!

No, Professor of Death, it is you who misses the point! And yes, I hope my comment offends you because I am offended by your total lack of regard for a human life.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Ah yes, I find it so typical of a few of these “Liberal Friends” to so quickly chime in and belittle Pamela’s commenters.
Especially Tom wh is kindly giving us a lesson in civil obedience and how us republicans should act out the wishes of his ilk.
And “Octo-whatever” who has told us what cruel and unappreciative bad people we Conservatives are because we will not let these scum called Truth and TAO and others call us every dirty word in the book and not respond to that.
Well let me say that I have been reading this blog all day and I had to bite my lip when I have the urge to respond, but it’s time that I did.
I think that “Me, Myself, And I” was so correct in her posts when she said “ We Conservative Americans live in the real world, liberal progressives do not live in the real world” The can not, and they can not because we Conservative can not lie and cheat and do it with a straight face and a clear conscious.
When I try to talk to a Obama supporter about even some of the most obvious destruction taking place they get very angry and it's bach to the old "it's Bush's fault". I now believe there is just no talking sense to these cult followers and it's actually kind of scary. I feel powerless to stop the stupid and ignorant from ruining this great country. But now I’m getting off track.

“Octo-whatever” chimes in by giving us that old “Freedom of speech” bunk, it’s very funny that Octo isn’t a champion of “Freedom of speech” when the speech is something other that what he or she agrees with is it!
But the poster that “Hit the nail on the head” was The Professor of Life, when he said that the people here love Pamela so much they didn’t want to see her mixed up and tainted by those liberal blogers that HATE us Conservatives SO MUCH that they curs us and call our leaders gutter names and even stoop so low as to call Conservative talk show hosts filth names for exposing the truth, like for example when Glenn Beck exposed Van Jones for being the Communist he is and being an adviser to the President then he (Glenn beck) was the bad guy, not the Communist Van Jones but the whistle blower Glenn Beck.
So what I am saying here Pam is that it isn’t that we are against you, it’s that we DO love you and don’t want to see you turning your back to us by joining forces with those lefties. So don’t be so quick to condem those of us who are conservative that wish you would not join in with Shaw etc.

"No, Professor Death, it is you who misses the point! And yes, I hope my comment offends you because I am offended by your total lack of regard for a human life."

In lieu of the Professor not seeing that. I will answer for him by saying.
Thank you for proving his and my point.
You are all filthy mouthed JERKS and not worthy of having Pamela join forces with you.

  50. Now, now. Calm down, nobody here TOLD Pam what to do or what to say or suppressed any of her freedom. So don’t get your Pinko panties in an bunch.
Pam said in her blog’s home page “I can spew my sentiments ‘til my heart’s content” So just let her be and let the cards fall where they may.
Those of us who wish to follow her blog will and maybe others won’t .. But whatever we don’t need any loud mouthed “friends” opening up their big yaps at the posters or commenters here. Like You (O)CT(O)PUSSY. That’s not going to help anybody.. But it will surely hurt. Lets face it, some liberals may adopt an certain position just to piss off conservatives and to bait them like Truth101 does constantly. I recall him chomping at the bit to piss off conservatives at every chance he gets. If conservatives want to boycott anyone’s blog, it should be Truth101's and not Pamela’s.

And while the reactionary righties have fooled each other into thinking they all hate me, they most certainly haven't fooled Truth 101! The Truth is you guy wnat me to visit your sites. You want to be on my blogroll. You want to be a part of something bigger than a gang of angry "conservatives" that lives for a cyber pat on the back each time you post something derogatory about me or Octo or TAO.

At one time I thanked Professor of Life for visiting my site and adding to the discussion. What happened to that guy?

  56. What amazes me about this blogsite is that generally the comment section is not the heart of the topic. But obviously it is at this one.
It seem to be full of hatred due to disagreement about one side to the other.
So it only goes to prove one thing...
Conservative or Liberal Pick Your Poison, You can't Have It Both Ways.

  57. Rational: And a Happy New Year to you! Thank you for stopping by AND for blogrolling me. I’ve read some of your comments over at Truth’s place and I’m honored at your gesture. I have added you to my blogroll also. I will be making some “changes” here in 2010. I intend to be my normal polite self, however, I plan on getter a little tougher with my delete button, because I can no longer tolerate the ad hominem abuse and off topic comments. Unfortunately, my leniency has left me no choice.

Political Nightmare: Your opinion has been noted, however, I am firm on my stance and believe that I CAN have it both ways on MY blog, because I HAVE it BOTH ways in real life. So, I see no reason why this can’t be extended into the blogosphere. You are correct, my readers have thrown my topics to the wind and that will change with my first post for 2010—coming soon.

  58. With all due respect for Octo, I'll let Pamela decide if she wants me to lay low on her blog.

She's never been shy about giving me hell or deleting me if I get out of line. Not saying I like it but she's a big girl. I'm afraid of her.

    Have a blessed Christmas everyone.

  59. Wow.

Interesting to take note of those who're attacking our hostess for being willing to engage those with whom she disagrees--without being disagreeable, I mean, and those who are defending her willingness to do so.

    Speaks volumes, I'd say.

Here's hoping that PDH continues to call 'em as she sees 'em, and doesn't let anyone bully her into submission to any political or social ideology or partisan bigotry.

The fact is kids, we're individuals, not "libitards" and "rethugs," and the sooner folks stop judging every member of a given political party (or social, religious, racial, etc. group) as though they all believe the same things--generally, whatever it is the worst member of "their" group said or did--the better. If you must attack, attack individuals for their "stupid" "bigoted" "commie/fascist" behavior, but leave the rest of the group out of it. It's no more true to say "Liberals/conservatives are [all] (spoken or unspoken, the word "all" is there, just the same) ..." than it is to say "Blacks/whites / Jews/Christians / Straights/gays are [all] ..."

PDH has a few folks outside of her own political circle that she likes to discuss/debate things with. Why anyone else thinks thats any of their business or that they know what's best for her is beyond me...

If anything, it makes me respect her more... (...but then, I'm just another one o' them pinko libruls, so whaddo I know...?)

In any case, a belated Merry & Happy to all...

With all due respect, T101, sometimes there needs to be an inner voice within ourselves that says: Enough!

When I consider all the Grinches who have stolen Pamela's Christmas, where is that moral compass that each one of us supposedly possesses? What is wrong with exercising personal judgement, or must one always be told?
